B.C.E.
The terms C.E. and B.C.E. describe the "Common Era" and "Before the Common Era." They are ways of talking about a system of counting years which started approximately 2000 years ago. In school, sometimes the initials B.C. and A.D. are used instead.
For example, the year 1,000,000 B.C. was over a million years ago. As was the year 1,000,000 B.C.E.
This year is 1998 A.D. This year is also 1998 C.E.
