THE WAR
Over 2000 years ago, the Greeks invaded Israel. And they wanted the people living there to act like they were Greek. Only the people there weren't Greek, they were Israelites. And they didn't want to worship the ancient Greek gods.
So a farmer by the name of Judah Maccabee finally said, "No!"to the soldiers and lead his family to the hills. Over several generations, the Maccabees and their friends managed to defeat the huge Grecian army and make them pull out of Israel.
