WRAPPING PAPER

For creative (and ecologically friendly) wrapping paper, you can use cool things around the house to wrap your Christmas Presents in!

Sunday Comics

What about using Sunday Comics?

Brown paper bag

Use a brown paper bag & stamp it!

  • Cut one of the seams of a brown paper bag, then cut around the bottom to form a flap. Turn it inside out and prepare to paint!
  • Put poster paint in a dish, cut a kitchen sponge (with a pair of scissors) into a fun shape (a star, tree, wreath, etc.)
  • Dip the sponge in the paint and dab it on the brown paper bag to make wrapping paper!
  • You can clean out the sponge and use another color of paint... what about 2 different shapes?
  • Use your imagination!

You can use a piece of colored yarn for a ribbon! Add a candy cane for for decoration.

Magazine

Tape together Magazine Pages. Cut out pictures or letter from the Magazine and paste them on top. (For example, Trees or Flowers, Fish or People dressed in blue!)

An old shirt?!

Consider Clean Rags as wrapping paper. (WHAT? RAGS?!) Yes, rags. You can either sew standard size pieces of cloth together (squares, triangles...) or even tie an old shirt around a present! Cinch the arms in a flounce with a piece of ribbon! And of course, when they're done being wrapping paper, they can go back to being rags.
